About the Motif Oracle Notebook
Motif Oracle Notebook is a TTRPG storytelling tool designed for solo roleplaying, tracking rolls & character notes during play, and creative writing. Three-Die System:
- Die 1: Answer Die
- Plain Yes/No: Simple binary answers
- Mixed Yes/No/Maybe: Includes possibility of mixed or uncertain results
- Die 2: Modifier Die
- Wrinkle: Adds complications or twists
- Certainty: Indicates the confidence level of the answer
- Die 3: Context Die
- Provides additional context for interpreting the answer

Session Management
Your work is automatically saved and can be managed using the buttons at the top of the notebook:
- Save Session: Create a named save of your current work
- Load Session:
- View and load any saved session
- Delete unwanted saves using the trash can icon
- Auto-saves appear at the top of the list
- Shows date and time of each save
- Export Session: Save your work as a ZIP file for backup or sharing
- Import Session: Load a previously exported ZIP file
- New Session: Start fresh with a clean notebook (requires confirmation)
Print Preview
The Print Preview tab allows you to review your session:
- View the current record of all fields
- Export the session record as plain text, HTML, or Markdown
Data Safety
Your work is protected through multiple save mechanisms:
- Frequent auto-saves prevent data loss
- Backup saves provide additional protection
- Export feature allows external backups
- All data is stored locally in your browser
- Confirmation dialogs prevent accidental data loss
